The OCM S35 awards nominations were disclosed today. Somewhat surprisingly team Driehoek was mentioned twice.
Dabe repeated his nomination from last year; once again he is one of the five climbers competing for The Sterling Dorsher Trophy for the Best Climber. We called Alfie Sagar, a former rider of Driehoek and freelance commenter for cycling at Bermudean tv. His reaction: 'It actually surprises me that Dabe is nominated again. During season 34 he was spectacular and scored all of Driehoeks points. But in season 35 Pierce had to step forward as well. Of course, Dabe is still a very good climber and he managed to win the Bukarest - Sinaia WT. But to be honest I would be very surprised if Dabe wins. I'll vote for him though.'
The second Driehoek nomination was collected by the manager. Koen is running for the Best Manager Outside Top Division award. Right now Koen and his team are preparing for the first classic of the year, so we turned to Sagar again: 'Now this is interesting. I was with the team when Koen took over and I remember how the debate started after the first successes; is Koen a good manager because he scores with an all-Bermudean team, or a poor one because he ignores all international potential and refuses great offers for riders when he can't find Bermudean replacements? I always picked the first side and I'm glad to see that some people agree.'

It seems Alfie Sagar has a lot of spare time after he was released by me a couples of weeks ago. :-)
Huh, not sure how that happened... ah well, there is no award for press releases :D
Hehe, the sentence 'Dabe repeated his nomination from last year' gets a whole new meaning ;)
Congratulations though!
Ehm... now that I've actually read it. You might want to check it again. ;)
Someone had nothing to do at 00:33... :P
